Stephen Webb says he and his Celebs Go Dating match were never together.
The 54-year-old TV personality met David, from Guernsey, Channel Islands, on the E4 show in 2024, and Stephen gushed to the programme's dating agents, Paul Carrick Brunson, 51, Anna Williamson, 44, and Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, 37, that his potential lover was a "hottie" and something "special".
But on October 1, 2024, it was revealed that Stephen had split from David after the former Gogglebox star learnt that his supposed boyfriend had been seeing other men while they were dating, and he was on a dating app.
Now, the TV personality does not see David as ever being that special someone in his life.
Stephen exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "The whole David thing was - I was part of a TV show. I wouldn't say we were together at all. No."
The star - who travelled from his home in the seaside resort Brighton to spend time with David in Guernsey - said dating again, but ultimately, Stephen is content with being single.
He admitted: "I'm just dipping my toe back into the dating pool.
"I’m actually not really looking to meet anyone. I’m happy being single for now."
The 2024 Dancing on Ice contestant - who split from his ex-husband Daniel Lustig-Webb in April 2024 after six years of marriage - enjoys not being in a relationship because he can do whatever he wants.
Stephen explained: "I just love that I can do what I want, go where I want, please myself, eat what food I want, watch what TV I want to watch.
"Before I was married to Daniel, I always travelled alone. I've done everything solo, solo to Mount Everest base camp one.
"I go trekking on my own, I go running on my own. I'm really good with my own company."

Stephen Webb reveals why he quit Gogglebox
Former Gogglebox star Stephen Webb revealed why he chose to leave the hit Channel 4 show towards the end of 2023.
Stephen explained he was "getting bored of his own jokes".
He said: "I thought, ‘I just can’t go back [to Gogglebox], I’m sick of it'."
Speaking to The Mirror , he added: "I got to the 10th anniversary of Gogglebox. I started feeling like Ken Barlow... there from day one.
“I was churning out the same old sh**. I’d say to the guys, ‘sorry, you’ll have heard this 10 times before...’ I don’t know why they’ve not cottoned on. When I shoved the doughnut in my mouth and swallowed... I must have done that four times. It made it on every time.”
Announcing his departure from Gogglebox in 2023, Stephen said in a statement on Instagram: “After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox.
“We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities. We would like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show.
“We are also thankful to the cast and crew, or Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all your love & support over the years.”
