Car crashes into Oxford house and 'driver runs away'

A car crashed into a house in Oxford late at night, damaging the property with the driver "running away".

The incident occurred as a car smashed into a property on Old Road, opposite Quarry Road in Headington at around 10.30pm on Sunday, May 18.

Residents and neighbours rushed out onto the street to find a silver car with its front end smashed in.

The owner of the affected home, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to the Oxford Mail about the ordeal.

"It is still an ongoing investigation and I haven’t had any quotes yet as I’m still figuring out if I should go through insurance or not if the suspect is found after running away," they said.

"They damaged the top of the house where the wooden planks are and ripped up my bush along with putting a hole in the loft and roof."

The Oxford Mail approached Thames Valley Police for further details on the incident but officers could not locate the crash on their logs.
