90s singer Chesney Hawkes revealed how he missed the chance to collaborate with a huge pop star before they became famous.
The One and Only hitmaker, who is rumoured to be appearing on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother, opened up about his career in an interview with The Sun.
It comes as the 53-year-old has released his first album in more than a decade today (April 4) titled Living Arrows.
However, ahead of his return to music, Hawkes said that he missed an opportunity to work with multi-platinum selling artist Ed Sheeran.
Speaking to The Sun about working with producer Jake Gosling, Hawkes recalled a moment from the past, saying: “I'd do sessions for him [Gosling] and we'd be trying to get a song for someone like Kylie Minogue.
“He told me about this kid, Ed Sheeran, who was sleeping on his couch. Jake said, 'Come and do a session.' I said: 'Ed who? I'm working with A1 now' .”
The father-of-three spent five weeks at number one on the UK singles charts in 1991 with his hit single The One and Only.
