Car crashes outside Poundland in Abingdon town centre

A car has crashed outside a shop in an Oxfordshire town centre. 

The car crashed outside Poundland in Broad Street in Abingdon this afternoon.

According to an eyewitness, it crashed into an electric box and almost collided with a woman.

The eyewitness added: “Police were stopping everyone from going near and standing in the way and talking to the driver. It was an old man who drove up the curb and crashed into an electric box it happened outside of Poundland on Broad Street. 

“There was a a big crowd, lots of people checking if he was ok, there was a woman that nearly got hit by the car.”

Thames Valley Police has confirmed that no arrests were made.
