The University of Oxford has been named as the most 'Instagrammable' UK university by a new study.
Conducted by QR Code Generator, the study analysed Instagram hashtags for more than 120 UK universities to determine which institutions were most popular on the social media platform.
Oxford came out on top, with more than 474,000 Instagram posts featuring #OxfordUniversity.
The university's "picturesque" campus, complete with the oldest botanic garden in the UK and "incredible" architecture across its more than 30 colleges, proved a hit with Instagram users, the research team said.
Oxford's historic rival, the University of Cambridge, came in second place, with more than 346,000 posts featuring #CambridgeUniversity.
Its 100 libraries, eight museums, and the famous Bridge of Sighs make it a popular choice for Instagram users.
Coventry University, the University of Birmingham, and the University of Manchester rounded out the top five.
Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator PRO S.L., said: "Choosing the perfect university involves considering many different and important factors, but for young adults, having a place that feels 'right' is crucial.
"Therefore, having such a volume of pictures sharing the unique and interesting aspects of each of these institutions is a great resource for prospective students."
Glasgow, Leeds, and Sheffield Universities followed in sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively, with King’s College London in ninth and Newcastle University in 10th.
