Delays are expected in Chipping Norton due to the historic Mop Fair.
Dating back to the 12th century, the Mop Fair takes its name from its original purpose, which was a hiring event, where servants carried the tools of their trade to show that they were available for work.
The event is peculiar to a section of the Midlands and West Country between Kings Norton and Salisbury.
In recent times Mop Fairs have become a funfair run by The Nichols family for over 100 years.
The Oxford Mail live traffic feed warns there are likely to delays on the A44 both ways from the Esso Petrol Station in Chipping Norton to A361 West Street.
There is a dedicated one-way system in place and a southbound closure.
The topside road closure is in effect from midnight on September 19 to 4am on September 22.
