A man who tried to run away from police officers was swiftly arrested for offences relating to drugs, police have said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon as Thames Valley Police officers were alerted to a “suspicious” male whilst on foot patrol at St Giles' Fair.
Officers located the male and spoke to him before he attempted to get away from officers while detained for a search.
Once on the floor and in handcuffs, he was searched and a substantial amount of drugs were located along with other items linked to drug supply.

The suspect was arrested and spent the night in police custody.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Whilst the male stayed in TVP's finest en-suite room, officers conducted a house search at this male's address which uncovered more drugs and more items relating to drug dealing.
“The male was then interviewed and bailed with conditions this morning to allow further enquiries to be completed.”
