Plans to develop a brain health research and innovation campus at a Headington hospital have been opened to public feedback.
The plans for the Warneford Hospital site include a new mental health hospital, a research facility for brain-health research, and a new post-graduate college for the University of Oxford focusing on medical sciences and bio-engineering.
Warneford Hospital, a Grade II listed building, is the oldest inpatient unit in use across the NHS.
The historic building has not seen many changes over the last 200 years.
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford are inviting feedback from people, community representatives, businesses, service providers, staff, patients and agencies with an interest in the future of the hospital and the surrounding site.
The two organisations are currently in the pre-application planning phase of the project.
Several drop-in exhibition sessions have been arranged, and will take play at the Day Centre at the hospital.
This will allow people to explore displays and visual material which will provide background context and considerations for the development.
People will also be able to meet members of the project team and engage in discussions with subject matter specialists, as well as share their thoughts, concerns and ideas for the future of Warneford Park.
The sessions will take place from 4pm-8pm on September 12, 1pm-6pm on September 13, and 9am-2pm on September 14.
