Fresh plans have been lodged to introduce a new care home to an Oxford suburb for children with "emotional and behavioural difficulties".

Applicant Aryas Properties is seeking permission from the city council to turn the two houses at 60A & 60B Windmill Road into children's homes.

These houses would accommodate four children under the age of 18 with one of the occupants "requiring more intensive support".

An applicant planning paper says: "The application is being made to convert the existing two dwellings into a care home for children.

"The management company that intends to run the business proposes that the properties will be interconnected and provide accommodation for four children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (mixed sex, aged 11-17 on admission).

"The home will be informed by Dyadic Developmental Practice (PACE) and staffing levels will be high. The company will employ, at minimum, a two to one ratio of staff to children to provide suitable care."

A total of two parking spaces are proposed for the development which is one less than there are currently and there are also five cycle spaces being proposed.

The arrangement would involve 11 full-time staff working in rotation and providing care.

In addition there would be a premises manager and the home would have adult supervision 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The application has the support of Oxfordshire County Council.
