Visitors to a foodie event tried out a bicycle-powered smoothie maker whipping up delicious fruit smoothies using pedal power.
They also tucked into vegetable curry, coleslaw and naan bread thanks to cookery demonstrations on how to use up leftovers from Pudding Pie Cookery School.
The special foodie event at Cornerstone in Didcot on Friday (August 30) gave visitors advice on how to turn leftovers into delicious meals, providing recipes and practical tips on using up different food items and reducing how much is wasted at home.
The team from SOFEA were on hand with advice on access to low-cost food in Didcot at their community larder.
There were activities with Good Food Oxfordshire and get cooking toolkits, resources and recipes, tips on growing at home and for reducing food waste and meal planning.
And the pedal powered smoothie maker was borrowed from SHARE Oxford’s Library of Things.
The event was part of Didcot Garden Party, a series of events celebrating Didcot’s art, culture and natural spaces as part of the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils’ Didcot Garden Town delivery plan.
