“I AM nothing but a screw up…I am so sorry,” is a text message allegedly sent by a man standing trial for sexual assault.
Kieron White is on trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with one count of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault.
It is alleged that on March 19, 2022 the 27-year-old had sexually assaulted a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at an address in Witney while she was drunk.

White has denied the offence and is now standing trial with the proceedings expected to last four to five days.
During the opening of the trial on Wednesday (August 28), prosecuting barrister Julian Lynch told the jury the case outline.
“They were friends and [at the time of the offence], Mr White had been forced to move from his address after being a victim of a stabbing.

“From time to time, they would go out together and have a drink in the evening.
"On March 12, the pair had gone out with some other friends to the pub.
“[In the morning] she felt like she may have had sex but she didn’t have any memory of it. She raised it with Mr White and at first, he denied it, and said nothing happened but a few days later he said that actually they had had sex.

“Clearly, the sex was drunken but the Crown said that it was consensual.
"This is important for three reasons; Mr White was sexually interested in [her], secondly, he was capable of sex despite his injuries and thirdly he’s willing to admit to sexual activity when pushed.”
Mr Lynch said that, several days later, the pair had been out drinking again when White had allegedly assaulted the woman when returning to her home.
“A few days later she confronts him about,” said the barrister. “At first, he was coy and didn’t really answer her questions but then she lied and said she cameras and could check what happened.
“At that point he said he did touch her.”
In text messages allegedly sent afterwards, White told the woman: “I’m nothing but a screw up, I’m a mess up, I’m sorry, I understand if you don’t chat to me.”
The complainant replied: “Just don’t understand how you could do that to me. I trusted you.”

White allegedly responded: “I’m sorry, I really am.”
Mr Lynch said the reported messages were ‘significant’ as White allegedly does not deny the allegations when put to him by the woman.
It is unknown what his defence is expected to be.
The trial continues.
