A railway centre welcomed a theatre group for a production of a classic novel last Friday.
On August 2, Didcot Railway Centre hosted the Tethered Wits theatre company for their performance of E Nesbit's The Railway Children.
Four actors played several roles, namely the three children, Roberta, Peter and Phyllis, their parents, the station porter, and a Russian gentleman.
Children in the audience were invited to join the performance, enlivening it by holding a banner.
Rory Dulku, who played the roles of the father and the porter, said: "It’s a magical story, made even more so by being able to do it in a venue surrounded by appropriate history, plus having a live engine.
"The kids really enjoyed it and made our experience as performers special."
The show finished with the cast enjoying applause from the audience.
The railway centre often holds special events, including its recent Lego event in July.
Visitors had access to 21 acres of Great Western Railway history and unlimited train rides at the Brick Adventures.
They could also compete against others to build the highest tower in the quickest time and take the anagram trail to find all the characters with a chance of receiving a reward.
The event also had its own custom printed bricks available for visitors to buy with two designs to choose from, as well as exhibitors and vendors for visitors to enjoy.
