Fire crews in Oxford city centre stopped to help a woman who was on the ground.

The incident occurred at around 2.40pm on Friday when a fire engine was driving across Magdalen Bridge and heading towards The Plain roundabout.

Upon noticing that a woman was on the ground and requiring medical treatment, firefighters halted the vehicle and assisted the member of the public.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: β€œA fire engine happened to be passing by the spot in your photo when the crew saw a lady who was clearly experiencing a medical incident.

β€œThey stopped, called an ambulance and attended to her until the medical experts arrived.”

A bicycle was seen on the floor alongside the woman.Β

An eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said: "A lady was on the floor by the pavement and she looked like a cyclist. I could not see police or the ambulance present, just the fire service.

"It was hard to tell what had happened walking past. I hope she is Ok."
