A multi-vehicle crash closed the M40 yesterday evening (July 30) causing long rush hour delays.
There were delays of 90 minutes after a crash involving several vehicles at around 6pm on the southbound between junction 10 for the Cherwell Valley Services and junction 9 for Bicester.
Emergency services were called to the scene and drivers were asked to seek an alternative route if possible.

An eyewitness said she saw "an ambulance, police car and fire engine" driving along while the traffic was backed up.
She added: "I saw two cars, which I think were in the middle lane, which had been involved in the crash, and then another car was on a recovery truck."
The motorway partially reopened at around 7pm with one lane remaining closed due to a "significant oil spillage".
The Oxford Mail has approached National Highways, Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and South Central Ambulance Service for comment.
