An 89-year-old from Thame has shared his advice for a long and successful marriage after he and his wife celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary last week.
Brian Farish and his 88-year-old wife Joyce marked their anniversary on July 23.
When asked about the key to a long marriage, Mr Farish said: "Always remember - happy wife, happy life."
The couple, who met when they were 17 and 18, moved to High Wycombe after getting married, where they built careers and started a family.
They moved to Cuttlebrook Hall Care Home, in Thame, earlier this year.
Mrs Farish spent her working years in the accounts department for the Co-op, while Mr Farish enjoyed a career in the printing industry.
Alana Corr, home manager at Cuttlebrook Hall, said: "Here at Cuttlebrook Hall, we know how important it is to celebrate all of life’s milestones, big and small.
"We were honoured to raise a glass to Joyce and Brian's long and happy marriage - we can certainly all learn from their experience."
The couple's milestone was celebrated with an afternoon tea, planned by the home’s catering team and serenaded by a singer.
Ms Corr added: “The atmosphere in the home on their special day was wonderful, particularly with the singer setting the atmosphere for their afternoon tea. It truly was a day to remember - happy anniversary Joyce and Brian."
