Rewley Road Fire Station has welcomed two new firefighters to its crew.
Dan Smith has transferred to the Oxford station from Slade Park Fire Station, while Ruth Price recently passed the Wholetime recruitment process.
Both Mr Smith and Ms Price are also on-call firefighters at Witney Fire Station.
When Mr Smith was asked what he could make the watch for dinners during their night shift, he said: “Mash potato with mash potato and then boiled potatoes…crushed”.
Rewley Road Fire Station is crewed 24 hours a day and is an on-call station.
The Red Watch team also received a surprise visit recently.
Lucy, who volunteers at KEEN Oxford, a charity that runs social, recreational, and sporting activities, dropped off a card and cake as a thank you for a visit the crew made to Keen.
