Jeremy Clarkson has taken a swipe at former Top Gear co-presenter James May this week.

The pair starred alongside Richard Hammond on the popular BBC car-focused show from 2003 to 2015 before the trio reunited for Prime Video’s The Grand Tour.

Having enjoyed large success together, the three celebrities have gone their separate ways professionally with May focusing on his gin business and Hammond on podcasting.

Clarkson has found further global success with his Prime Video documentary Clarkson’s Farm which focuses on life at Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington near Chipping Norton.

Despite the 64-year-old no longer working with May, it has not stopped the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host from playfully teasing from afar.

Posting a photograph of a dated Triumph Mayflower, Clarkson commented: “Good news James May, it’s for sale.”

The former Top Gear host was at Churchill Car Show on Sunday in the Cotswolds when he spotted the car and tagged May in the social media post.

James May revealed last month that he believes Clarkson, Hammond and himself are unlikely to work together again.

Speaking to Unilad, he said: “I think people would only really like us doing cars, despite what some people say - ‘Oh, I think you should all go off and do cooking or you should all go and do a podcast about nothing.’

“But I don’t think so, I think we should let it lie, what we did.”
