FRAUD ‘victims’ claim a man took their money to ‘fund charitable activities’ in Africa and ‘buy artwork’ but was pocketing it instead.
Malcolm Thanni has been charged with four counts of fraud by false representation between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2021.
The 61-year-old is accused of asking one man for money to purchase ‘African works of art’ and allegedly stated that the artwork was ‘worth the prices’ he charged the man for.

He is also accused of asking for money twice from a second man, claiming the money was to ‘fund charitable activities in Africa’.
Thanni, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to all four counts at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (June 6).
A trial is due to take place on June 23, 2025.
