Oxford Mail Camera Club members have been taking photos of animals.

‘New life’ was our latest weekly theme and it prompted snappers to post lots of photos of ducklings, goslings, piglets and badger cubs.

There were quite a few contenders for the photo of the week title but in the end we selected this striking shot of a white calf taken by Sue Craigs Erwin.

Each week camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.

A selection of pictures are featured in the Oxford Mail, The Oxford Times and online and one photo is chosen as photo of the week.

The winning photo is almost always linked to the weekly theme, although occasionally a non-themed photo can be selected.

The next theme is ‘river scenes’.
