A PLEA hearing has been set for a man allegedly caught with a shotgun he was not permitted to have.

Steven Dilley, of Colville Close, Bampton, was reportedly caught with a Moderns Arms double-barrelled .410” shotgun without a firearm certificate in force on August 13 last year.

He was charged with possessing a firearm without a certificate. The 42-year-old was also charged with possession of a Class A drug, MDMA, which he was allegedly caught with on the same day in Bampton.

Dilley had his first hearing at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on May 17. His case has now been adjourned until May 31 when he is due in the same court for a plea hearing.

If guilty, Dilley could face a prison sentence or a fine.
