Oxfordshire's most famous residents David and Victoria Beckham are once again among the wealthiest people in the UK in 2024.

The annual Sunday Times Rich List, which is included in a 76-page special edition of its Sunday magazine, reveals the wealth of the 350 richest individuals and families in Britain.

Mr Beckham's business earnings are greater than his wife Victoria's but they have amassed a fortune that grew another £30million to £455million, the latest report says.

The decision by Lionel Messi to sign with the Inter Miami football team, part-owned by Mr Beckham, 49, last year sent the value of the club soaring to $1 billion, according to Forbes.

He also has a stake in Authentic Brands, the world’s largest sport and entertainment licensing company, which owns the fashion brands Reebok, Juicy Couture, Ted Baker and Hunter as well as the rights to the estate, name and image of celebrities including Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Mohammed Ali.

His 45 per cent stake in DB Ventures is valued at about £200 million. In addition he has longstanding deals to promote Tudor watches (a sister company to Rolex), EA Sports and Adidas, and added Nespresso to the list last year.

Mrs Beckham's fashion line and her beauty offshoot are beginning to turn a profit; one of her cult satin kajal eyeliner pencils sells every 30 seconds.

The latest figures from Victoria Beckham Holdings show revenues increased 44 per cent to £58.8 million in 2022, versus £40.9 million in 2021, and operating losses reduced significantly from £3.9 million to £0.9 million.

This followed an injection by shareholders, including the Beckhams and Neo Investment, of £6.9 million.

Their property portfolio — which includes a £50 million white stucco townhouse in Holland Park, west London, a home in Great Tew in the Cotswolds and a five-bedroom penthouse in Miami, in a building designed by Zaha Hadid — is worth about £90 million.

They also own a £16 million superyacht called Seven, after the number on Mr Beckham's Manchester United and England shirts.

Mrs Beckham still receives royalties, merchandise income and other Spice Girl-related earnings paid into her company Moody Productions.

The couple’s Netflix series Beckham became the streamer’s most-watched show or film of 2023 in the UK.

The Beckhams have also appeared in lucrative on-screen advertising roles, including for Uber Eats during the Super Bowl in February.

Sir Leonard Blavatnik was revealed to be the second richest person in the UK with a fortune of £29.2billion made from investment, music and media through Access Industries.

Sir Leonard is the benefactor who gives his name to the striking Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University.
