A mum-of-five was horrified to discover nails had been left at a children’s play park in Oxfordshire.

The sharp objects had been left upright and attached to various play equipment such as swings and slides in the Marcham Village park.

After taking her youngest child to the area to play, one local mum found the nails and immediately shared the news on social media to warn others.

Speaking to the Oxford Mail on Wednesday anonymously, the Marcham resident revealed how she was sickened by the incident.

“I have five children with ages ranging from three years old to 18 years old and we visit the park a couple of times a week,” she said.

“We have such a wonderful, safe community where everyone looks out for one another.

"It feels invasive and frankly a bit sinister and targeting children is just sickening.

“I heard today that police had closed the case as there’s no CCTV evidence and no one saw anything.”

Thames Valley Police have told the Oxford Mail that an investigation into the sinister incident remains ongoing.
