An eatery in Banbury has been given a low food hygiene rating after a recent inspection.

Keith's Catering Van, based on the layby adjacent to the Hardwick Hill crematorium in Southam Road, was given a score of one-out-of-five following an inspection on March 26.

The inspection by the Food Standards Agency found that 'major improvement' is 'necessary'.

Inspections look at hygienic food handling, cleanliness and the condition of facilities and management of food safety.

Businesses handed low ratings are told what improvements are required to improve hygiene standards.

Food hygiene ratings are on a scale of zero to five with a rating of five meaning hygiene standards are 'very good' and zero meaning 'urgent improvement is required'.
