A secret pizza shipping container has returned to Oxford after a long-time absence.

Pizza 1889 is a national pizzeria chain which has locations in London, Bristol, Cambridge and Templars Square shopping park in Cowley, Oxford.

The eatery is interestingly located in a sky blue chipping container making it very unique though it is well hidden away in Cowley.

It had been closed throughout this year with no life shown at the shipping container for months but the restaurant reopened last week.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Oxford, we are back!

“We are ready to start serving you delicious, authentic, Italian street pizza.”

The Pizza 1889 brand is committed to providing its customers with authentic-tasting pizza, even using ingredients sourced from Italy.

“We’re committed to making great pizza, and we make sure our suppliers are too.

“The fior di latte mozzarella we use comes from the Latteria Sorrentia in Naples, where it was developed specifically for topping pizza!

“Following in great Italian pizza-making traditions requires craft, a love of fresh food and a whole lot of theatre.

“When you visit us, not only will we make your pizza by hand in front of your eyes, but we’ll give you a slice of Italy to take away too.”

The Oxford spot is open from 12pm to 9pm on Wednesday through to Sunday, but is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
