Richard Ryan of Middletown Grange celebrated a notable 103rd birthday over the weekend.

Mr Ryan was surrounded by his family, including daughter Kathleen Kirk.

They were treated to a Sunday lunch, which Mr Ryan enjoyed before it was topped off with a special cake crafted by the home's chef.

General manager, Mirela, said: "To be able to be present to enjoy and celebrate such a huge milestone for Richard and his family is something to cherish for all of us here at White Lodge."

A week-long celebration lead up to the big day, involving family, friends, and staff from the home.

The management team at Barchester Healthcare concluded with a warm "Happy Birthday and congratulations to Richard and his family."
