A woman passed out in a flowerbed after a 6ft 1ins man allegedly exposed himself in a high street with a child nearby.

Officers were stopped by a member of the public who told them that a man had been seen indecently exposing himself in a public place on the High Street in Banbury on March 18.

CCTV footage from the area was reviewed by police and it showed a woman who appeared to have passed out on a flowerbed outside Good Game on the High Street.

During this incident, the woman was seen to be walking past the incident with a girl aged between eight and 10-years-old

They appear from the footage to be no more than three metres away from the incident.

The offender is described by police as white, around 6ft 1ins tall with short brown hair and was said to be wearing navy blue jogging bottoms and a dark-coloured jumper.

A 43-year-old man from Banbury has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until June 26 while investigations continue.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the woman involved in the incident to come forward and contact the force.

Investigating officer PC Jess Andrews, based at Banbury's police station, said: “We are looking to ascertain the exact nature of the offences, but we believe this to have been an incident of indecent exposure.

“I am looking to identify the woman who was seen walking near to the incident with a female child to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police, as we believe she has witnessed what has occurred.
