A best-selling author and scientist is set to visit Oxford as part of his tour across the USA and Europe.

Richard Dawkins will be at New Theatre on Monday, October 21, for "An Evening With Richard Dawkins and Friends".

The series will explore topics from science to religion, life on earth, and beyond.

Mr Dawkins is celebrated for his advocacy of scientific inquiry, with best-selling books such as The Selfish Gene, The God Delusion, and Unweaving The Rainbow.

The tour will also offer audiences an insight into Mr Dawkins' forthcoming book, The Genetic Book of the Dead, which analyses the role of DNA in our comprehension of evolution.

The Oxford show is one of six UK appearances organised by Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor, in association with WME and IDEATE.

Ben Hatton, the director of theatre touring at Cuffe and Taylor, said: "Richard Dawkins is revered and respected as one of the world’s foremost scientists and thinkers and we are honoured to be bringing his 2024 Tour here to the UK with six unmissable shows.

"His live shows are always thought-provoking and insightful, and we expect this new tour will be incredibly popular so we would advise booking early to avoid disappointment."

Tickets for the event will be available from 10am on Friday, April 19, via the ticketmaster and atgtickets websites.
