“F*** off,” a woman mouthed to the victim of a beating in court before she was sentenced for assault.

Phoebe Hale, 33, was in Oxford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (April 9) to be sentenced for one count of assault by beating of Jordan Berry on February 19 this year.

As she was brought into court, Hale mouthed ‘f*** off’ to Mr Berry, who was sitting in the public gallery, but told the judge it ‘was a joke’.

Mr Berry was later removed from the court for interrupting the proceedings, making Hale smirk.

Hale, of no fixed abode, was given a 24-month community order to complete 12 months of drug rehabilitation activity and six months of mental health treatment.

There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
