An Oxfordshire Audi driver had his car seized after losing a game of “hide and seek” with police.
The incident happened on Monday, April 1, as officers noticed the Audi speeding around Hennef Way in Banbury.
Officers then searched the area for the car as the driver attempted to hide from them but he was caught after going up a dead end road.
The vehicle was found to be uninsured and despite the driver trying to buy temporary insurance at the roadside, the vehicle was seized by Thames Valley Police.
A spokesperson for the force said: “SC Facey and SC Barlow began to area search for the vehicle, the driver thought he would play a game of hide and seek, unfortunately for the driver he lost the game and was spotted down a dead end road.
“SC Facey and SC Barlow carried out checks on the vehicle establishing the vehicle was uninsured. The driver tried to be smart by purchasing temporary insurance at the roadside after being stopped but sadly this doesn't work as the offence had already been committed.
“Vehicle was seized under Section 165a, driver reported for the offence of driving with no insurance which will most likely end up with the driver losing their licence.
“The driver was also issued with a S59 warning for driving in an anti-social manor which lasts for 12 months.”
