COVERED Market traders in Oxford are handing out prizes to children who took part in an Easter egg hunt.

Over Easter families who visited the historic market were invited to take part in the hunt.

After calling in at The Garden of Oxford, or Wicked Chocolate or iScream they paid £5 to join the game and were then given an entry card.

They then hunted for pictures of eggs with letters in them, inside or outside participating market shops.

For each letter spotted, the trader stamped their card and they were given a small chocolate egg.

Oxford Mail: A boy enjoys the Easter egg hunt last yearOnce families found all the letters on their card they handed them back to traders and were then eligible to enter the prize draw for three prizes including a large cuddly toy rabbit.

The draw takes place in the market on Monday.

The Covered Market website said: "The Great Covered Market Easter Egg Hunt has become a fantastic tradition in the market and a great way to really embrace Easter holiday spirit.

"Last year just over 44kg of foiled mini eggs were given out to those hungry market hunters."
