UPDATE - LATEST NEWS: Woman, 28, found dead at country park

Forensics have arrived at a police scene in an Oxford park.

Police officers and cars descended on Shotover Country Park in Headington on Thursday morning.

Sections of the park have been closed off to the public and two separate police taped cordons are in place.

These block the entry to a certain section of woods within the park which covers 117 hectares on the southern slopes of Shotover Hill.

A fire engine as well as four police cars, one of which was unmarked, could be seen at the site later on the morning.

Forensics were also at the scene and quickly dispersed past the cordon and into the woods.

Police have yet to confirm the nature of the incident but have warned the public to stay away from the area following the incident.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Our officers are currently on scene at Shotover Country Park, in Headington, Oxford dealing with an incident.

“There is a large police cordon in place around the park and its pathways.

“The park itself has been closed to the public while officers manage the scene. “The closure is likely to remain in place for some time.

“Please avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.”
