A man has died from his injuries following a horror car crash in Oxfordshire.

The crash happened between a black MG ZS and a white Citroen Berlingo van on the A40 between Swinbrook and Burford at around 6.20am on Monday, March 4.

The incident left two men seriously injured, but now the diver of the MG, a man in his 30s, has died of his injuries in hospital on Saturday, March 16.

The driver of the Citroen, a man aged in his 50s, is still recovering from his serious injuries in hospital.

Thames Valley Police officers have now made a renewed public appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Matt Stansfield of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly, one of the men injured in this collision has since died.

“I am today re-appealing for witnesses to this collision to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who was driving in the area at around 6.20am on 4 March to check their dash-cams and contact us if it has captured anything that can assist this investigation.

“The family of the man who has died are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.

“We would ask on their behalf to please respect their privacy while they come to terms with this tragic incident.”

Formal identification of the man who has died will be a matter for the Oxfordshire coroner.
