Westgate Oxford will be hosting its first ever artisan market this weekend.

In a joint effort with Funyard Events, the occasion will showcase the talents of the area's top independent creators and designers in Leiden Square.

On offer at the free event will be an array of items and gifts such as candles, jewellery, and homeware products, as well as organic fruit, vegetables, and artisan chocolate brownies.

Confirmed vendors at the March 17 event include Oxford's 'Abby Mason Ceramics', and 'Jericho Beau', a provider of handcrafted polymer clay jewellery.

Also present will be 'Cathryn Jeff Art' from Witney, which specialises in original paintings of natural scenes and prominent landmarks in Oxford.

Centre director at Westgate Oxford, Brendan Hattam said: "It feels great to come together and celebrate the region’s talented artists and makers with such a unique and exciting event, here at Westgate Oxford.

"We can’t wait to browse the stalls and enjoy the unique local produce on offer."

The co-founder of Funyard Events said the organisation was looking forward to hosting the event.

The event will begin at 11am and end at 5pm.

Aside from exploring the artisan market, guests can visit more than 100 shops, more than 20 food joints, a boutique cinema, and the Escape Hunt zone.
