A DRIVER has been jailed after injuring a man on the A40 earlier this month.

Krzydtof Szczygiel, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of causing serious injury by careless driving and one count of driving without due care and attention on March 4 this year in Forest Hill near Headington.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to both counts after causing serious injury to Lawrence Crawford.

At Oxford Magistrates’ Court last week, he was jailed for 16 weeks.

He was also disqualified from driving for 24 months which has been extended to take into account his period in custody.

Szczygiel was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £152.
