An Oxfordshire man who was on his mobile phone while driving has been arrested after he tested positive for cannabis.
Thames Valley Police officers spotted a driver using his mobile phone on the A41 near Bicester on Saturday morning.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently reported for the offence before officers took a drugs wipe.
The wipe was positive for cannabis which led to the officers arresting the man and taking him to Banbury for a blood procedure.
Other drivers were also caught offending during the force’s patrols throughout Saturday morning.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Officers conducted a road safety speed enforcement check on the A41 in Bicester this morning.
“23 traffic offence reports issued to drivers for exceeding the 40mph speed limit.”
