Police have confirmed the cause of death and the identity of an Oxford stab victim.

Following a post-mortem examination, Thames Valley Police confirmed it was 32-year-old Tobias Bruce who died after a fatal stabbing in Littlemore.

Police were called to College Lane at around 6.05pm on Sunday (February 25) as two men, aged 32 and 28, were hospitalised with stab wounds.

The 28-year-old has been discharged from the hospital, however, the death of Mr Bruce has sparked a murder investigation.

The post-mortem examination concluded the cause of death to be multiple sharp force injuries.

Thames Valley Police had previously stated the age of Mr Bruce was 33 but it has now been confirmed he was 32 by the force.

Mr Bruce’s next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.

A 41-year-old man from Headington has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder. 

A 30-year-old man from Botley has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specific controlled drug above the specified limit.

A 57-year-old woman from Headington has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have all been released on bail.

Cowley Road was reopened by police on Tuesday afternoon (February 27) after the road had been cordoned off since Sunday evening. 

The cordon remained in place throughout Monday (February 26) as forensics teams carried out investigations.

A 33-year-old man, previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.
