Fire crews battled a blaze at a home throughout the night in an Oxfordshire village.

At around 2am on Monday, firefighters from Thame, Slade and High Wycombe were called to a roof fire in Chinnor.

Everyone in the home managed to escape without injury before calling 999.

Crews stayed on the scene until around 5am.

A fire and rescue spokesperson said: “On arrival, crews were faced with smoke issuing from beneath the roof tiles.

“Fortunately, they were able to quickly stop the fire from spreading.

“A specialist positive pressure fan was used to help clear any remaining smoke from the property.”
