Soho Farmhouse has been given planning permission for an overflow car park to to accommodate the public when events are open to the local community.

West Oxfordshire District Council granted permission for a new 128-space car park next to its current car park.

The existing visitor car park holds approximately 345 cars.

The new car park will be built with 38 electric charging points. All parking bays will be "future proofed" so they can be easily used as charging points in the future.

The exclusive country club at Great Tew, Chipping Norton, was previously granted permission for an overflow car park in 2019 but due to Covid "trading conditions meant that there was no commercial justification to make any further investment in the site" and the permission lapsed.

Reapplying in 2022,  planning documents said more parking was needed for special events such as Bonfire Night and Christmas carols when the hotel is open to the local community as well as busy Bank Holiday weekends when large parties are held.
