Three shared ownership Woodstock properties set for market

Blenheim Estate Homes is opening applications for the properties at its Park View development on Friday March 1, with prices for the two-bedroom homes starting from £495,000.

The homes include two double bedrooms, a kitchen with fitted oven and hob, a bathroom with bath over shower, their own rear gardens, and an allocated car parking space.

Ceramic floor tiling will be included in the kitchen, bathroom, and downstairs w/c.

Eligibility for the Shared Ownership Scheme will require candidates to have a local connection to the area, an annual household income of less than £80,000, and be financially unable of purchasing a suitable home on the open market.

Additional prerequisites include the buyer covering their own legal fees, having savings towards their mortgage and deposit, and an evaluation on their ability to afford and sustain shared ownership.

The deposit required is calculated based on the price of the share, rather than the value of the entire property.

Rebecca Wakefield, housing officer at Blenheim Estate Homes said: "Providing affordable homes is really important to us; giving a helping hand for those in our local community who are trying to make that first step on the property ladder.

Blenheim Estate Homes, which has previously built 122 affordable homes and been given the go-ahead to develop 178 more, aims to house 300 families in high-quality affordable properties by 2027.

With these shared ownership homes allowing people to acquire as low as a 40 per cent share in a home, they can also gradually increase their ownership stake over time, ultimately owning the property outright.

The remaining share of the property is owned by Blenheim Estate.
