A charity advocating for more inclusive communities is inviting runners to join their team for the Oxford Half Marathon.

Participating runners will support Oxford's Yellow Submarine, which aims to change the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism.

Last year's half marathon saw a record-breaking number of runners show solidarity with the charity.

Yellow Submarine is now looking for runners to complete the 13.1 mile course on October 13 in support of their work.

The charity is offering a number of perks for it's runners.

These include a reduced price to enter the race, an exclusive Yellow Submarine running vest, training to support runners in their preparation for the race and support from Yellow Submarine staff and members along the distance of the course.

Ella O’Brien, community fundraiser at Yellow Submarine, said: "Last year’s Oxford Half was record breaking for our charity with over 80 runners and raising over £21,000.

"We are feeling ambitious for 2024 and want to welcome more runners to our team, whether you are running your first half marathon or if you’re a seasoned runner trying to achieve a personal best there is a space for you on our team.

"Our 2023 runners said the course was buzzing with support with the crowd shouting their names and even singing the Beatles hit ‘Yellow Submarine’ when they went past."

The Oxford Half has been an instrumental platform for raising awareness and funds for Yellow Submarine.
