The family of a ‘murder victim’ had to leave the courtroom while footage was played of his body being pulled out of a bathing spot.
Edited footage showing Jorge Martin Carreno’s body being removed from Parsons Pleasure was shown at Oxford Crown Court today (Friday, February 9).
It came on the third day of a trial into the 30-year-old’s death in July 2021 in which Scarlet Blake, 25, is accused of his murder.

PC Maxwell Wilkins of Thames Valley Police was the first police officer to arrive at the site where Mr Carreno’s body was discovered on July 26, 2021.
Footage from his body camera was played to the jury on television screens.
Despite Mr Carreno’s body being pixelated, his family, who have attended each day of the trial, walked out of the courtroom before the video was shown.
The footage showed PC Wilkins running through University Parks to Parsons Pleasure where he found members of the fire service pulling Mr Carreno’s body out of the water.

A member of the fire service can be heard saying in the video "let's be real, rigor mortis has set in" about Mr Carreno’s body.
PC Wilkins then set up a police cordon around the scene to “maintain dignity because there were people on the other bank looking."
Defence Richard Sutton KC asked PC Wilkins “if the left foot of the body was entangled in a tree root” when it was discovered in the water.
Pc Wilkins replied that he could not say.
The trial continues.
