Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum will be hosting an online interview with a well-known comics writer.

The interview with Garth Ennis will feature on the museum’s website and is the latest in a series of online events put forward by the museum in the last three years.

It is part of the museum’s recent exhibition, Into Battle! The Art of British War Comics, which continues until the end of April.

The exhibit, and this forthcoming event, are in partnership with Rebellion - a publisher based in Oxford known for 2000AD and Judge Dredd, in addition to the recent revival of many classic British war comics.

Garth Ennis, known for his work on The Boys and Battle Action, will talk about his growing love for comics in his childhood leading to a successful career writing for 2000 AD, Marvel and DC Comics.

He will also address the status of British War comics in the 70s, their decline in the 80s, and the ways writers refresh classic characters for contemporary readers.

The event is set to take place on March 9 at 7 pm, and a live Q&A session will follow the interview.

The event is free, with donations encouraged in support of the museum.

For those unable to attend, a recording will be available on-demand from the same page shortly after the event concludes.
