A road traffic collision in Chipping Norton which left an 18-year-old man hospitalised with “serious, potentially life-changing injuries” has prompted a witness appeal from Thames Valley Police.

The collision occurred in West Street last Thursday (February 1), involving a grey Volkswagen Golf estate and a Lexmoto motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Police have today (Tuesday, February 6) confirmed that he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Golf was not injured in the collision and no arrests have been made.

Police are continuing to investigate but are now calling on witnesses who observed the accident and/or have dash cam footage of the collision to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Dan Carter of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision occurred in West Street near to West End in the middle of the evening.

“I am confident that there will be drivers who have dash-cam in their vehicles that may have captured the incident.

“I’m appealing to anybody with dash-cam to please check this and contact us if it has captured the collision or the moments leading up to it.
