Two hour delays have been reported by traffic stuck on congested roads surrounding the CLA Game Fair.
Traffic is backed up on the A34 from Abingdon to Weston-on-the-Green, the A44 at Woodstock, the B4027 at Islip and A4095 at Witney.
The congestion has also moved to other roads where cars are trying to find quicker routes such as Oxford's north-eastern and eastern bypass, Marston Ferry Road and A420 at Botley.
Resurfacing at London Road in Headington is also causing long delays.
The CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock runs over the weekend and is the world's biggest country show.
