Have you noticed Coronation Street isn’t on TV tonight (February 2)?

Over the last few months, the soap has seen a few schedule changes due to various sporting events being broadcast on ITV1.

Loyal fans may have realised Corrie is missing again from the ITV schedule this evening.

Why is Coronation Street not on tonight?

This is due to the Six Nations being shown from 7.15pm until 10.20pm instead.

France vs Ireland will kick off at 8pm live from Stade Velodrome in Marseille.

Coverage from the first match of the championship will be presented by Jill Douglas.

The Radio Times summary adds: “Ireland defeated the French 32-19 in a thrilling encounter at Aviva Stadium last year and went on to emulate Les Bleus' 2022 achievement of winning the Grand Slam.

“However, both teams' may feel they have something to prove after suffering quarter-final exits from the World Cup when being among the favourites.

“With analysis from Brian O'Driscoll, Rory Best and Benjamin Kayser, commentary by Miles Harrison, Gordon D'Arcy and David Flatman, and reports from Gabriel Clarke.”

Therefore, there is sadly no Friday episode of Weatherfield drama.

The first Six Nations match of 2024 also means Emmerdale will be starting at an earlier time of 6.45pm tonight.

The usual ITV schedule for Coronation Street will resume on Monday, February 5 at 8pm.
