The manager of a flourishing family centre is stepping down after nearly 18 years in the job.
Lifelong Kidlington resident Sue Laverty, 64, has been at the helm of the village's Kaleidoscope Family Centre, since it opened in 1991.
She said: "I have worked with children ever since I left school - and I have loved every minute.
"I have enjoyed meeting families at the centre and seeing the youngsters grow up.
"Some of the children that used to come at the beginning now bring their own children. It has been wonderful and I have met some good friends."
Sara Keppie, a centre outreach worker, takes over as manager from Mrs Laverty, who lives in Stratfield Road.
Mrs Keppie said: "Sue has been a great support to families."
Staff have organised a farewell party for Mrs Laverty at the centre next Thursday, from noon until 3pm. Friends past and present are invited to come along.
