Fire stations across Oxfordshire have changed the profile picture on Facebook in a mark of respect following the death of the chief officer of West Midlands Fire Service.
Wayne Brown was found dead at his home on Wednesday morning (January 24).
In a statement, Greg Brackenridge, chair of West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority, said his death was not being treated as suspicious by police.
He said: "We are devastated to report that our chief fire officer, Wayne Brown, was this morning (24 January) found dead at his home address.
"All our thoughts and love are with his family, his friends and his colleagues.
"We ask everyone that his family and his colleagues are given time and space at this tragic time."
Mr Brown was being investigated over claims made on social media believed to relate to his qualifications for the top chief fire officer role.
The fire service said a formal process was under way into the allegations.
