Homes in Bicester were left without power as Storm Jocelyn caused outages across the county.

Thousands of homes have been impacted by power cuts in Oxfordshire this week including several postcode areas in the Launton area of Bicester on Tuesday night (January 23).

Due to Storm Jocelyn Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks moved to a weather warning status for central southern England.

This came ahead of a period of high winds forecasted for Tuesday night, from 9pm, into the early hours of Wednesday (January 24) morning as a result of Storm Jocelyn.

The energy company said: " Following the restoration efforts from Storm Isha SSEN’s teams are remaining in place to deal with any damage to the network and subsequent faults, which may interrupt customers’ power supplies.

“We will continue to monitor Storm Jocelyn closely as it develops, and we will issue further updates as required.”
