A CONVICTED Headington paedophile who told a young girl online she was ‘sexy’ has been jailed for breaching his sexual harm orders.

Wayne Young, 40, was handed a suspended sentence in April last year for having indecent images of children, possession of extreme pornography and attempted sexual communication with a child.

However, it was discovered between August 22, 2022, and July 20, 2023, Young was found with several indecent images of children as well as being caught trying to communicate with a child under 16.

Using a chatroom, Young was caught telling a 15-year-old girl she was a ‘good girl and had a beautiful body’ as well as calling another young girl ‘sexy’.

The discovery came as police searched his mobile two days after he was sentenced in April.

Sentencing him to three years and two months in jail, Judge Maria Lamb said: “All these offences show your paedophile interest did not discontinue.

"They continued religiously throughout 2022 up until you were in court in 2023.”

Young, of Bernwood Road, Headington, was charged with three counts of possession of an indecent image – 24 Category A, nine Category B, and six Category C.

He was also charged with making 15 Category A images, 27 Category B images and nine Category C images.

Between 26 February, 2023 and March 1, 2023 he was charged with making a further seven Category A images, two Category B images, and seven Category C images.

Police found Young had also been communicating with young children online, three females and one male, but their agers couldn’t’ be proved.

He faced four charges of attempting to communicate with a child under 16.

Some of the messages sent to the young people were asking girls to commit penetrative acts.

These offences put him in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) as he used an online chatroom through his PlayStation and also used a library computer in West Central Library in Oxford on November 25 last year.

The court heard that Young ‘hates himself’ for being in court again and has been ‘struggling mentally with the ongoing haze’.

It was suggested that Young does not have a sexual interest in children but that he has been ‘desensitised’ to the images.

Defence barrister Bethan Chichester said: “[He] simply sought comfort. He has no explanation for why he’s been doing the things he’s been doing.

“He said he doesn’t have a sexual interest in children.”

She added that Young suffers from gender dysphoria and hasn’t had a chance to complete a therapy course to help with his issues.
