AN Oxford man who sent threatening messages on Snapchat and Facebook to 14 different victims has been jailed.

Elliott Howells, 22, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday (January 12) to a year and seven months imprisonment after being caught sending malicious messages over a year-long period.

The victims were women and girls aged from 11 to 50 as well as a 29-year-old man.

He was charged and convicted for one count of breaching a non-molestation order.

Howells, of Trefoil Place, Oxford, pleaded guilty to 14 counts each of malicious communications and one count of breaching a non-molestation order on November 30 last year and has been remanded in custody since.

At the sentencing hearing, he was also made subject to a ten-year restraining order.

Investigating officer, detective sergeant Sheryl Philpott, based at Oxford's police station, said: “I am pleased that an immediate custodial sentence has been imposed.
